A liquid resulting from and extracted in the process of brewing beers or whiskeys. The wort is extracted from the mashing process, and it contains the sugars that will ultimately be used in the fermentation process by the yeast. Wort also contains amino acids that help provide nitrogen to the yeast as well as proteins that comprise part of the froth in beer.
