The perfect sandwich for a cold winter day, a cold rainy day, or just when your cooking skills are just garbage. I’m half kidding about that last part, but this page right here is for anyone that either wants a reminder or is cooking a lot for the first time. Let’s get started:
Time: 12 minutes
Serving Size: 1
Ingredients:
- Two slices of bread
- Two slices of cheese (not a rule, just a preference)
- Butter/mayo
Steps:
- First, set your pan to medium heat and wait until the pan is heated up. While waiting, spread whatever it is that you’re using on the bread on one side of each slice. Also, take whatever type of cheese you are using out of the fridge so that the slices will melt better. Use butter if you want a more savory taste. Use mayo if you want savory and something a bit, for lack of a better word, tangy.
- Once heated up, take one slice a place it spread side down on the pan. Place whatever cheese you are using on top of the bread and then place the other slice spread side facing up.
- After about 5 minutes, the bottom slice of bread should be browned, so it will be time to flip the sandwich. Wait an additional 5 minutes, and you’re sandwich should be ready.
- One final note. I typically use American cheese since it melts nicely on its own. However, feel free to use a variety of cheeses. For example, if I’m having tomato soup with it, I typically prefer cheddar cheese on my sandwich.
