The FSIS has requested a renewal of an approved information collection method. The method in question is in regards to business registration requirements for businesses interested in entering or participating in the meat industry. This is a regular occurrence.
According to the announcement of the request for renewal, the form is FSIS Form 5020-1, Registration of Meat and Poultry Handlers, and it requires interested parties to submit their name, addresses of all locations of business pertinent to the registration, and all names under which the parties conduct business. Importantly, those that are registering must file this form within 90 days after they begin to conduct business and submit a form in writing if and when any information required by Form 5020-1 changes.
