The restaurant and culinary spaces are ripe for data collection. Once only partially taken advantage of, many tech companies are now realizing just how much potential there is in these spaces. Case in point, tech company Peppr (located in Plano, TX, more on the rest later) has announced the launch the Grow platform. According to the company, Grow is fully managed and is designed to provide restaurants with branded, high-converting websites and social media marketing campaigns, ideal for owners without technical expertise.
According to their website, they are “the only POS that understands restaurants”. To that end, they designed the platform to help address the deficit smaller restaurants face when trying to manage their own marketing campaigns. Grow also works with any POS system, not just Peppr. Features of Grow include:
- SEO optimization
- Influencer connections
- Automated Marketing
and more. An online seminar was held on September 15, 2025.
It is not entirely clear when the company was founded. Data on LinkedIn suggests that the company has been around at least since September 2024, and their Instagram account has been active since April 2025, the same time as their Facebook page. They do not appear to have an account on X nor any other platform. Inspection of their Glassdoor account shows that they had employees active at the company as far back as June of 2024. Review of the company are positive.
It is not clear who the CEO of the company is form most sources, nor is it clear who any other executive at the company is. Inspection of the company website curiously does not mention a single, specific human being on its “Our Story” page. However, on the actual press announcement, the CEO is mentioned as being one David Jiang.
David Jiang, current CEO of Peppr POS, also works with Meituan. His current position with the company is “Head of International Markets, Hardware & Software Services”, a position he has held since December 2023. Specifically, according to a post he made on LinkedIn on September 18th, 2025, “we started Peppr to bring Meituan’s proven restaurant technology—trusted by millions of merchants—to the world”. The post in question can be found here.
News from the company itself has mostly focused on technological developments. Older pieces of news include an antitrust fine issued to it by China’s antitrust regulator back in October 2021. While it is strange that the Peppr does not advertise its connections to the renowned platform, I imagine that it is primarily related to the optics of such a large company coming in out of nowhere. Time will tell what changes it will bring.
