New Ben & Jerry’s Campaign

In a new move (dating to September 9th, 2025) from the acclaimed brand of ice cream, Ben & Jerry’s is campaigning to be sold from its parent company, Magnum. For those who don’t know, Ben & Jerry’s was acquired by the company Unilever back in 2000. In March 2024, the brand Magnum was spun off, along with Ben & Jerry’s and other brands, into its own entity.

The founders of the company have repeatedly attempted to buy back the brand. This is despite the current CEO of Magnum indicating that he is not aware of any attempts to buy back the brand from Unilever. He has also reiterated that the company is not for sale.

The crux of the founders’ concern regarding buying back Ben & Jerry’s is that they claim they are being muzzled by the interests of their corporate owners with regards to social causes that they support. This includes, but is not limited to, actions being taken in Palestine. The hashtag currently in use is #Freebenandjerrys, coming from a post made by Ben Cohen.
